Advanced Clinical Massage Therapy (ACMT) may be described as a hotchpotch of techniques that are combined to help you reduce pain and perfect your movements. ACMT allows me to rehabilitate your existing injuries. ACMT is commonly used to treat injuries suffered during an accident, sporting event or surgery.
However, ACMT also allows us to prevent you from suffering from injuries in the first place, hence why ACMT is considered a preventative measure. ACMT may also be used to improve your sense of well-being and deep relaxation. This is because ACMT has many psychological benefits that are generally associated with massage.
Before ACMT is carried out, I will complete a full orthopaedic assessment from a physical standpoint. I will determine which areas of your body are commonly exposed to stress and hard work. This allows me to utilise ACMT in the fight against conditions such as Repetitive Strain Disorder (RSI). I also determine the exact points where you are experiencing pain.
Following this assessment, I utilise a number of ACMT techniques to achieve your treatment goals. This includes: Cranial Sacral Therapy, Cupping, Hot stones, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Soft Tissue Release and Stretching.
The above ACMT techniques work holistically to ensure your treatment goals are met. These goals typically include rehabilitation, prevention, improved muscle movement and psychological benefits.
I am trained in many different advanced techniques and I will create a session that is unique for you and your body. I focus on outcome-oriented treatments- getting you the result you want in a way that is economical for your time and money. This means that I may use a combination of techniques mentioned above to create the outcome you desire- reduction of pain and injury or deep relaxation.
ACMT techniques are employed at weekly sessions. I have successfully treated clients with numerous different injuries and have easily moved them out of chronic pain between1-6 sessions. When your course of treatment concludes, I implement a further assessment to determine whether your treatment goals have been achieved. If your treatment goals have not been met, I usually recommend you continue your treatment if the condition is improving, or I will liaise appropriately with other professionals such as GPS, physiotherapists and osteopaths to give you the best possible care.
ACMT techniques are affective in the treatment of chronic pain conditions such as:
Back pain, Neck pain, Frozen shoulder, RSI (Repetitive strain injury), Headaches and Migraines, TmJ, Whiplash, Sports Injury, Tendonitis, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, pain from pregnancy and stress related conditions.
My clinic is also the place to come to experience massage and bodywork at its highest level – you don’t have to in pain to enjoy my work.
